The Municipal Office Groningen has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Architecture Award 2014 (Award Duurzame Architectuur). The prize giving ceremony will be part of the Green Buildings Congres, held on Thursday October 30th at the St@art in Apeldoorn.
The award honors projects with an exceptional sustainability performance. These can be in the realm of people, planet and profit aspects. The contending projects show that sustainability and circular economy can be accomplished in both process and technological aspects. In that manner one can recognize many cooperative links in many of the projects.
For the new Groningen Municipal Office ambitious goals were set for hospitality, functionality, environment and sustainability. Through close collaboration with the client and consultants DGMR and Draaijer+Partners these goals have been met convincingly, as the nomination clearly emphasizes.
The jury comprises of Hidde van der Kluit (chair), professor Anke van Hal (DGBC), Willem Lageweg (MVO Nederland), Titia Siertsema (UNETO-VNI) en Gijs Verweij (formerly Wereldhave).
