Between the Ibizan mountains and the sea, our stunning Cala Molà housing complex appears as a sequence of six elemental stone volumes dotted across the hillside. With their landscape-hugging appearance, following the sloping lines of the site, the houses seem in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature.
Cala Molà Luxury Properties SL
By slicing into the volumes to create diagonally cut façades, we open the houses up to the Mediterranean landscape, bringing it into the heart of the interior spaces. In particular, the diagonal lines enable panoramic sea views, while lending the architecture a dramatic edge.
The six luxury houses are located in the residential area of Cala MolÃ, on the rising slopes that that surround the bay. They embody the spirit of the tranquillity and exclusivity that envelops this special area. The homes are beautifully integrated with the unique natural environment with its spectacular sea views, and are designed to enable outdoor living. Each house has access to outside spaces in the form of stepped perimeter patios which add further variation and liveliness to the site.
The orientation of the houses and the large openings are towards the forest, the sea and Cala MolÃ. This positioning plus the organization of the volumes allows for good climate regulation, with abundant shadows preventing overheating inside the houses. The homes thus combine optimum comfort levels with minimum energy requirements. The sequence of their interiors also follows the slope of the landscape. Together with the terraces, the lounge and kitchen areas form a single space visually, thanks to the large windows covering the entire main façade. Large glass sliding doors give access to the exterior spaces, enhancing the versatility of both indoor and outdoor areas.
Each house is positioned in the centre of its own plot. Raising or lowering the implantation level of each volume along the longitudinal direction of the slope (the northeast-southwest direction), optimizes the relationship between the houses and the outdoor spaces. Views are maximized and integration with the landscape context is ensured, while the distance between buildings is enhanced. All the façades face the northeast, creating viewpoints facing the sea and the beach.
