The Geurt Brinkgreve Bokaal 2025

The Geurt Brinkgreve Bokaal is an annual award for the best initiative in the field of redevelopment or renovation of Amsterdam’s architectural heritage. Two of our projects have the chance to chosen in this category, namely Amsterdam University Library and Het Slotervaart!

The new Amsterdam University Library combines monumental heritage with contemporary architecture to create a multifunctional academic building for students, researchers, and staff. The various spaces are connected by a light-filled atrium that encourages collaboration and interaction. The result is a unique, flexible, and accessible learning environment where past and future come together in a dynamic way.

Het Slotervaart provides space for healthcare and social functions. The brutalist structure has been carefully renovated, preserving its original architectural qualities. The new two-story rooftop extension harmonizes with the building’s existing rhythm while bringing in abundant natural light. In this way, a future-proof center for care, work, and community has been created for the neighborhood.
