Highest point construction new Haga Hospital

After having commenced building last May the highest point in the construction of the new Haga Hospital was reached in just 10 months. This was celebrated on a perfectly sunny afternoon, last Wednesday, March 5th.
In the official part Chiel Huffmeijer, chairman of the board of directors, spoke about the process of the creation of the new hospital and the selection of the consortium VolkerWesselsHaga & MVSA Architects for the actual realization. As building partner VolkerWesselsHaga are not only involved in the construction of the new building, but also the maintenance for 20 years; and thus being able to offer the best possible care for Haga Hospital’s patients, now and in the future.
Alderman Marnix North spoke about the key role that the construction of the Haga Hospital plays in the development of this city district; and as an important step in improving the qualities of the city of The Hague as a whole. Marinus den Harder, director VolkerWessel Bouw, explicitly praised the very good cooperation with Haga Hospital and the user groups.
The occasion was commemorated by placing a facade panel by Chiel Huffmeijer, Marinus den Harder, together with Fréderique Hofstede (pediatrician manager of the JKZ) and Dik Meeuwis (surgeon and medical manager operation rooms).
