(But do read, it doesn’t say what it says)
This quote by Martinus Nijhoff will soon be displayed in 24 languages and six scripts at the new entrance of the University of Amsterdam Library on Nieuwe Doelenstraat, situated within the Binnengasthuisterrein Campus. We are thrilled to see our design come to life.
Far more than a decorative feature, the screen functions as a veil between the library and neighboring residential units, enhancing privacy for both groups. This newly constructed corner introduces a sleek, modern entrance to this monumental complex in the heart of Amsterdam. The text on the screen alludes to the building’s purpose, programs, and users—particularly those from the Humanities faculty. This artistically designed 3D-printed facade screen was made possible through the extraordinary collaboration of all involved parties.
