Over the past year, our model makers have meticulously designed, 3D-printed, and assembled a 70 m² city model of Amsterdam. One-by-one-meter laser-cut acrylic plates form the base topography, depicting streets, waterways, and landscapes. On top, thousands of 3D-printed elements—buildings, bridges, trees, and more—bring the city to life with remarkable precision. Every detail reflects our deep appreciation for Amsterdam’s architecture and development.

At a 1:2000 scale, the interactive model showcases the city’s evolution: how Amsterdam coexists with water, its green spaces, movement patterns, and 75 iconic buildings that tell the stories of its past, present, and future. Visitors can explore these stories via an interactive touchscreen, with the model lighting up and changing color to highlight Amsterdam’s unique character.

Last Friday, the model was ceremoniously handed over to the Mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema. As of today, it is open to the public and freely accessible during office hours in the lobby of WTC Amsterdam, Zuidas (Towers 1 and 2).
